According to my experience, selecting a great gift for your special someone is hard. And it can’t be truer when that special someone is your beloved kid.
Most people think that they know the secrets, but I don’t think so. There are many people making big mistakes when they choose their gifts. And that could result in a not so good ending this Christmas.
So, what are those critical mistakes? And more important, how to fix those things? Let's me share with you my list.
Mistake #1: Picking fit the kid’s gender
Is your kid a cute boy or a pretty girl? You know boys like robots and trucks, right? And you know that baby girls love Barbie as well?
Yet I see there are people who give their young girl a Transformer robot to play with this Christmas! I agree that there are exceptions. However, unless you know that your kid likes playing with that kind of toys, please don’t make that mistake!
Always remember to buy your kids gifts that fit their genders. Even if s/he doesn't like it, at least it fits the role.
Mistake #2: Choosing inappropriate gifts for your child’s age
Another minor mistake, but it leads to big disappointment.
Let me take toys as example, if you pay close attention you can see that they have something like a badge that tells us the suitable ages of children.
If you have a young son, never buy him something that be harmful while playing. If you have older children, you might consider buying them toys that help grow their creativity.
Mistake #3: Pay less attention on educational gifts
Fact is, your kid loves shiny and colorful things. That’s the reason why educational toys were once abandoned by many.
But they also have a big plus point. And you know what? It can be a great gift for almost every child. Educational toys can't go wrong here!
Moreover, they’re working to improve their outfits. And that’s a good news too. Because you can buy it knowing that your child will be attracted to it and learn many things.
Mistake #4: Buying violent or harmful toys for your kids
Yes, your child should stay away from toys like guns and sword.
He could like them, because they evoke his curiosity. But even when he demands you to buy it, you shouldn't! Because those toys will do nothing but increasing the bad emotions inside your kid.
They are too young to know that. And your job is to prevent that thing. There are many other great choices. Why don't you choose him one?

Fact is, your kid could be a very potential engineer in the future. Why? Because he loves Lego toys and other train sets for example.
And you know that you can help him grow that passion even more. Why don't you do that? Don't make the mistake that you know his passion. And you know you can help him. But you think other things will help him more and you abandon his idea.
That's a big no-no!
